Our Story

Our story, our foundation, our passion.

As the director of Takarangi, Jamie is a māmā first and foremost to her two children — her daughter Ashleigh Jade and son Mihipo Te Māia, Grandma to Te Ao Kamāia and soon to be wife to entrepreneur, builder and carpenter fiancé Joel.

Raised on the East Coast of the North Island of Aotearoa New Zealand, her ancestral lineage hails from Ngāti Porou, Ngāi Tāmanuhiri and Ngāpuhi.

Takarangi was established in 2012 initially as a side hustle, which then morphed into a vehicle of self-determination and has now become her full-time work since 2019.  Takarangi is a whānau business poised to mobilise whanau, to achieve their greatest aspirations.

“My primary purpose was to focus my time and energy in spaces and places with my whānau to achieve collective benefits.” – Jamie Lambert

Takarangi has grown over time and we have expanded the Takarangi brand to engage in diverse spaces.

“I kaha ngana ia ki te whakatutuki i ēnei kaupapa rangatira, e rewa ai te mauri ora o tō mātou kura. Jade Tapine, Principal, Te Wharekura o Ngā Purapura o Te Aroha

“With the exponential growth here at Pūniu River Care (PRC), this accelerated our need to create a training and development programme to teach specific technical skills to effectively manage the demands within the industry.

After a couple of attempts to find the resources to achieve this, we approached Jamie Lambert and right from the get-go…she ‘got it’. She got the feel, she got the understanding, she got the kaupapa!”

Quinton Tunoho, Pou Tiaki — Cultural Well-Being, Pūniu River Care

“Takarangi has been instrumental in the delivery of some of our key projects, ranging from evaluative research, cultural capability building, through to resource development. Many of these were delivered within shortened timeframes, ahead of schedule and under budget. TupuOra is humbled to have helped with the establishment of Takarangi, and we look forward to being part of its growth and success moving forward into the future.”

Kingi Kiriona, Mana Whakahaere — Managing Director, TupuOra Education and Development Ltd.
